All plans were thrown into disarray today (I shall not go into details). Then a mtg was delayed and I had to work late.
Finally managed to get out of the super duper boring (a repeat telecast mtg for me somemore since I had already went through the mtg content once the day before!) at 7+. Changed into my gear and head down for a run. Immediately as I stepped out of my office lobby into the open, I could smell this thick smoke. As I looked up into the sky, saw that our skyline was clouded by this thick haze. Very bad .... was wondering whether it was wise running in such conditions. But since I have no history of asthma, thought I should not need to worry so much.
From the CBD Start point, ran towards Marina City Park, towards Sun-dial, up the Sheares Bridge and instead of turning right into Esplanade, turned left towards Kallang. The sky was really hazy last night and from Sheares' Bridge I could only make out a blurry night skyline. Very very bad haze! U-turned at Kallang, took the same route back to Sheares' Bridge, to Sun-dial, went straight running alongside the body of water, turning right into the seafood village at Marina South. From there it is again familiar ground - the end part of the CBD run route back to start point.
Finished the run in 2hrs 10mins, total of 16km. Didn't expect to run this distance but legs were feeling good (no shin pain at all!) and was going at a very slow pace, so didn't feel breathless throughout (except when climbing up Sheares' Bridge!! :P).
Good run on a mid-week. Today is rest day ... *sigh of relief from my toes* ... got to really go for a foot massage. I need it desperately ...
