As I walked towards the start point, saw that a number of the usual SGRunners were already there. Andy, Divey, Charmane, Andy, Bikerchic, Shut, Roentgen (and many more whom I can't recall). Also met joao. Very happy to see Sxuanjing, whom I have not met for a very long time (even before AHM). Met some new faces like Kwang & Thomas & 2 folks from Fitness First. There was, surprisingly, no key CBD run moderators present (-) last night and everyone was lost as to who to lead the run, the route to take etc.
With no route in mind, we decided to just take the easy route of running to the
Shut, Charmane & I wanted to go for an extra loop at Marina South Park. After waiting for Roentgen to catch up, our lokun was gallantly (read: happily - muahahha) escorting sxuanjing & joey until he saw us and decided to join us for the extra loop. So there we went. What a mistake for me!!! Charmane & Roentgen were running & yakking & unknowingly picking up speed as they run while I increasingly faced difficulties catching up with them. Shut, obviously, had no problems running after them. In no time, I fell very silent and stopped contributing to the conversation, not that I have nothing to say, but I had no energy to carry a conversation & run at their speed! hahaha .... tiring but good run ! I guess this is one way to train my cardio ?
Returned to the start point & everyone was already cooling down and hanging around. So sorry to keep everyone waiting. After more chit chat, we proceeded to Maxwell Mkt for dinner. Surprisingly, I lost my appetite (must be the run) and after exploring all the shops in Maxwell, I settled on pohpiah and bao. Didn't even eat my fav Yong Tau Foo (-).
All the (-) I peppered in this blog explains why I coin this my CBD run. Seriously speaking though, as usual, I enjoyed my CBD run. This has become my weekly ritual, to come out for this run, meet up with the wonderful SGRunners, have fun, be silly together, chit chat and makan and basically chill. Thanks to everyone for this great company! Cheers!
