Expectation

Got this in my mailbox.

"When I expect to get something, I stop
wanting it and begin NEEDING it in order to be happy."

I have learnt that expectation is such a DANGEROUS state of mind. When I start to expect, the whole frame of mind changes. From being appreciative of someone else's efforts (for doing something), it becomes expected behaviour. And when he/she does not live up to this expectation, everything just go downhill. Disappointment, anger, disgust, disillusionment, jaded, bleak .. and I get sucked into this realm of negativity.

So ... have to constantly remind ourselves not to expect. Be thankful if something turns out right (or at least what you think is right), and shrug off any nagative thoughts when it doesn't.

Is that easy to do ? I'm not sure, but worth a try :)
