Please read Part 1 of this adventure here.
I was alongside Taz in the beginning of the run so as to start the group going. We ran past the normal Sengkang route, past the stretch of ulu road where big trucks lined the side of the road. This stretch of the road is really quiet and definitely a NO-NO run zone for lone runners especially during the early morning or nights. As we passed the remote LRT station (not sure the name) , Taz pointed to a road up the stairs which led us to ...... Jalan Kayu! Wow! I didn't know this route exist though we ran past it many times! Thanks Taz!!!
We ran past Jalan Kayu towards Seletar camp but instead of running inside, we skirted around it, running again along a secret route of Taz's! The road was quite narrow and was thick with vegetation (Taz pointed out to me the tapioca plants and recounted his interesting army days when he had to hack through such thick vegetation to clear the road). It was actually pretty dangerous to run there because we were running on the road and I can imagine the place to be really dark when light fades. The place will be shrouded in darkness, with just the light from the lamposts (if they work!!) and the moonlight. (Taz, pls dun run there alone when light is dim plssss).
As our journey continues, so is this FR which u can continue reading from HERE.
