Pre-National Day Run

CBD run this week is cancelled due to the fireworks. We anticipate the CBD area to be thronged with onlookers trying to catch a good view of the fireworks. Some of the sgrunners arranged to meet at the Esplanade food centre to I suppose to "chope" good seats and wait for the fireworks and also since there is a National Day Bug run on Wed morning.

Since I will not be joining the wed mrn run (too fast for me - 20km at 6min pace. I will just be left smelling their dust) and I'm not very much into crowds, I decided to still go for a run. Roentgen felt the same way especially when he would be stuck in National Stadium the whole day on Wed, he desperately needed a run to purge all the work stress. Told Teelee about it yesterday during the teelee recovery run and since he is game, we decided to just go for it. Unfortunately all the people we jio-ed couldn't make it, so it was left with just the three musketeers :)

Started the run at Kovan MRT. We do not have a plotted out route, but we know we wanted to cover between 15-18km and to bring Roentgen around the HSP route. Since I'm the DR, I definitely wasn't the one leading the run. Teelee led the way and Roentgen was just taking in the sights, asking us where this and that place was.

The pace was good, slow enough for me and the guys were very accomodating. Weather was kind to us tonight too, there was a constant cool breeze and I guess running alongside big plots of unused land helps as there wasn't any obstruction to the wind. And since today is the 15th day of the lunar month, the moon was really round and beautiful.

We ended the run with a super yummilicious taiwan muay with lots of vegetables. The vegetables actually tasted very fresh, unlike the many muay stalls we have tried previously where all the vegetables are all soggy and totally lacks nutritional value. We then proceeded to the Selegie soya bean curd nearby for our dessert. The hunks had soya bean curd, while thirsty me had my grass jelly. Yummy!!!

Ended the wonderful run and company with Roentgen sending me home. Gam siah very much, Roentgen!!! *bow*

Thanks Roentgen & Teelee for the great company for the run!

Total distance covered : 15.9km
Total time taken : 2 hours 8 mins

Hey KJ (and Teelee), thanks for showing me all the obscure running areas around HSP! It was truly an eye-opening experience for me. :) The lsd certainly helped me to de-stress after a long day...

And yes, the muay was very tasty indeed. :P

Roentgen, you are most welcome! Great that you were able to explore the KHSP (Kovan-HSP) area on foot! :)
