Finally received email from company yesterday evening to go ahead to register under corporate for SCSM 06. Logged in to the website and I got stuck ... nope, not technical glitches, but I was 2 minds about whether to register for half or full. My initial intention was to go half. Don't think i'm conditioned to go full yet. Its double the effort for what I did for AHM! How can tahan?!?! But then again, another part of me is also saying, just go slow, walk more run less, u can still complete even if it takes 6 hours!
I consulted Teelee & his advice was to go for half : "don overdo it this year" he said. I thought that was very wise and coming from Teelee, the speedster, and "running professional" he shouldn't be wrong. Anyway, the last thing I want is to get injured or kill my passion for running!
However, I'm still tempted and with aichai now up-ing my interest by pledging $5 per km if i were to run full, I'm getting more curious about the prospect of running full. Is there sufficient time to train ? And what constitutes a full marathon training anyway ? I have barely 3 months left to train for full marathon. Come to think of it, rationally, I really doubt I can do it.
Anyway, just some random tots early in the morning .... will appreciate all your advices/comments. Let me know what you think ok ?
:)
Cheers!

Ha ha :P You have caught the running bug liao!
Seriously, if you wanted to do a SLOW full marathon this year, I think you can, as long as you train properly over the next 3 months, take sufficient walk breaks during the marathon and pace yourself correctly. It will be a challenge, but given your current fitness level, it is achievable :)
However, there is also no need to rush to do a marathon this year. Certainly, as Teelee said, taking it slow and not "over-running" is good advice.
Why don't you let the euphoria of AHM settle down for a few days first. Then make a decision after your next lsd? :D
hey roentgen,
That sure is a very wise advice! :)
Yup, i think i shall , borrowing ur words "let the euphoria of AHM settle down" before i commit myself.
:)
The $5/km for HWA and the finisher T sure are big draws! :P
Thanks for the advice, lokun! *2 thumbs up*
Actually, if you wanna complete the full marathon, should not be a problem, but have to make sure that your runs will have to continue all the way till the end of the year.
If not its going to be tough.
And if timming is not a issue, you should be able to do it.
hey gal, i truly think u shld go ahead wif the 42km!
u can walk(alot) n jog...
$5 per km for hwa leh, 105 bucks losted!
i walked alot for ahm n i am glad i finished... bet to finish 42k will b even more power-packed!
i hav friends who run 42k w/o training lohz... though its not advicable...
jus hav to listen very careful to ur body during the race... walk as much as possible... set ur target to b 6 hrs!
run for hwa tis yr, run for PB nxt yr lorz...
my 3 cents worth...
Progressively you can do 42k with your current training.
I did my first 42k training runs by myself. It is tough mentality to do it week in/out alone. Asking myself many times, why am i doing this alone in the dark?
The kind of encouragements given from your running kakis, you can complete the distance in better shape/condition.
You only live Once.
