LSD @ ECP

Good ol' Teelee & Taz were not free on Saturday to help plan for an LSD. Teelee was going to the Bintan marathon with IMD while Taz has some personal engagements. Roentgen hence planned out a route (he said it was similar to the animiles run) and Superboy helped to coordinate to inform everyone.

To avoid the morning sun, we decided to start at 630am. Junie & I reached ECP carpark B1, Roentgen, Angel, Daisiki & Cosmic came shortly after in Roentgen's car, who has kindly picked up the gals & guy. Renoh, Gen (new to sgrunners i think, who is training for his tri), SV & a lady (whom somehow I just couldn't get her name!!!!! serious sign of aging :( ) arrived at about the same time. While waiting for Loneshare, Superboy, Bryan (Superboy's friend), Shut & Charmane to arrive, Taz came running up to us (he was doing a morning run from his place to ECP and back !!! wow!! Could tell that he had been speeding! must check out his blog to find out more :))
Not long after, Loneshark (or formerly known as nemo) called to say that they were not able to locate Bryan. After many phone calls, we decided to start the run without them, and they will play catch up game when they reached. oops!!!

Running @ ECP early in the morning is soo refreshing. The cool breeze from the sea, watching the sun peeking out from the sky, meeting the so many early risers who are already running in ECP ... it was what I would consider the BEST way to spend a Saturday morning. No, I don't think sleeping in & lazing in bed is such an enjoyable affair anymore. It just makes one more sluggish and lazy. hehe. I was running with Cosmic & the new gal, chatting happily about nothing important, just getting to know one another better and hoping that my chatter will help to make her comfortable (hope I'm not yakking like some SCB - siao char bo! :P). And I even met cfred doing his ninja at ECP!

By the time we reached the half way mark at the country club, Renoh, Gen, Cosmic, Daisiki & the gal were already 10 minutes (i think) on their return leg.

This run was a little faster than the last LSD we did last week, but the sights, the cool breeze along the whole stretch really made this run a very very good run. Enjoyed myself tremendously. We stretched & cooled down at the starting point with Roentgen & Superboy supplying all the 100+ and bananas! Thanks guys!!!

We took some pics, showered and had breakfast at the Old Airport Road. Had this pumpkin kueh and chee cheong fun. Not fantastic really ... I had so much fun yakking and laughing with the gals (Angel, Charmane, Daisiki) & Roentgen - the lone man at our table. At one point we even started talking about gal stuff forgetting the one guy's presence haha ... ooops! But ok lah, that means we treat him as one of us, one of the hao2 jie3 mei4 mah, right gals :P

After breakfast, we bade our goodbyes while Rogentgen, Loneshark & myself headed to Suntec to begin our work on the HWA thingy, with the hunky Renoh joining us (hooray!). Renoh gave us lots of good inputs on the HWA thingy, and answering to our queries about how other charities did it so that we can tap on their good ideas. I was in charge of getting the blog site up while sharkie (Loneshark) used his excellent (and may i say EXCELLENT) marketing skills to get the various publicity papers (appeal letter, e-flyer etc.) out. Roentgen was on site to generate all the great ideas, bounce off ideas with sharkie, helping me with the blog site, giving me pointers on the aesthetics of the page etc. The 4 of us went through the available templates on blogspot and finally decided on one theme that we though will fit HWA perfectly. With that I was able to customize all the color fonts and layout of the content. Everyone worked together, throwing out ideas and having lots of fun along the way. I have to say, this is one of the most enjoyable work I've ever done!!!

I have to say I learnt a lot from Loneshark & Roentgen. Loneshark's skills in marketing is excellent (or maybe I shld say I have none!!!). Its wonderful how the delivery of the same message could affect the outcome. I mean I always know that, but i just dunno how to do it. I guess I'm a very factual person, i just give facts & figures, but I do not know how to "package" this information in a palatable manner. This sure is something I have to brush up on, and I guess I just have to observe more, learn from the experts like Sharkie & Roentgen and everyone else. That's how we improve ourselves, observing & learning from others.

We accomplished lots in that over 5 hours that we were together. Roentgen & Sharkie even came up with this very meaningful tagline "GO THE EXTRA MILE. Run for HWA". Great work!!!

To motivate ourselves to get the work done, we planned to eat Oiishi Pizza for dinner. When we finally finished our work, which was about 8+pm, we rushed down to the nearest outlet at Thomson and pigged out on Teriyaki Chicken & Spicy seafood pizzas, wings, croqueet (dunno how to spell). Wow! I have to say I'm really impressed by their pizzas! Very nice, thin crust and extremely yummilicious!! I have to admit I don't feel half as guilty getting fat eating such great food :P

Again, we had a good time yakking and catching up. And it is in this dinner (or during the ride up to dinner) that I found out that there has been gossips on-going in our little kampung community about me and Sharkie! Almost fell off my chair!! Pls lor, we are like siblings! *faintz* *pengz* *laugh until jaw drop* my poor brudder sharkie is just as shocked haha ... *shake head vehemontly*

What a wonderful day .... Fresh air, cool breeze, great company at ECP LSD, good teamwork, motivation exhibited during the HWA discussions and a yummilicious dinner! Can a day go any better ? :P Thanks to everyone for making my Saturday so happy! *2 thumbs up*
